IPM also provides trained Biblical Chaplains to Fire Departments and EMS crews at no cost.
A Biblical Fire/EMS Chaplain can be a confidential source of strength and encouragement to individual members who may be struggling with personal issues or stress from those difficult calls we all have from time to time.
Besides conducting stress diffusings and debriefings, the Biblical Chaplain can also work confidentially behind the scenes with individual crew members to lower stress and increase morale and productivity.
By riding along on shift, the Fire/EMS Chaplain can build trust and rapport with those he serves.
Although we do not see the high incidences of suicide or stress-related diseases among Fire/EMS workers as we do in law enforcement, the Biblical Fire/EMS Chaplain can still be of invaluable service to the crews as he provides a confidential source of encouragement and Biblical direction.
Often the Fire/EMS Chaplain can be of help in summoning emergency crews to incidents that he comes across in the field while not riding along with crews.
The Fire/EMS Chaplain can also plan and coordinate special “Civil Servant/Local Hero” appreciation services at local churches. These functions help to boost morale and public awareness and appreciation of the Fire/EMS services.
